The Agony

I wouldn't have believed it if I had not heard it myself. Me, on the eve of my child's 5th birthday - "why do you have to grow up". Mary Kathryn "oh Mom, that's just the way life goes". I have said it before and I will say it again - Are you kidding me? Where does she get this from~!

Strange sighting

A Deer in Colonial Lake. Not something this Charlestonian sees everyday. I was shocked. Mary Kathryn and I were having a picnic with a friend of hers at Moultrie playground and when I looked over towards the lake I saw a crowd. We went over and there was a six point (near as I could tell) buck swimming around. Surrounded by 100's of on lookers and rescue personnel. Really a site to behold. They had lassoed him and were about to pull him out when we had to leave to get Anne. The whole ordeal lasted about 3 hours. Containing that buck wasn't an easy task apparently. Wish I had my camera but here is a photo from the internet.

Labor Day

We were fortunate enough to spend Labor Day with a group of our favorite people at a beautiful home in RiverTowne. Sadly this is the only picture I took. But Thanks Smiths for organizing such an awesome day. We all had a blast!

Charles Towne Landing

I took the girls for a CTL outing just before school started. We had a great time. The highlight for them was the show they put on for Grammy and I at the educational area in the animal forest. It was a dance that told the story of how most of the animals we saw were sleeping . . .
We put on shows for every event!

First Day of School

Today was Mary Kathryn's 1st day in the 4's at Little School and
Anne's 1st day of school ever. We had a good morning and everyone was happy on the
way in, which was a good sign. Anne and I dropped off MK, who was excited, and then it was Annie-Boo's turn.
I had prepared myself that even though Anne had been talking about being excited to go to school since last year
that she would most likely cry. She is a crier and often a screamer. But more than that she is an enigma. Ms. Helen, the assistant
for Anne's class, came and got her out and put her on the sidewalk and said "wave to your mom" and she did and then she went on inside.
She probably just wanted to prove me wrong! I had a spy who said that when half the class was upset in music class Anne was happily
sitting on the rug. Go figure! But I am defintely thankful for the blessing that today was!
