In the car today . . .
MK: "I wanted you to be my Mommy."
Me: " I wanted you to be my little girl."
MK: " When I was up in heaven and not born yet and you were born, my heart told me that I wanted you to be my Mommy."
Me: Teary-eyed and speechless

Tour de Charleston
While MK has been working on her biking skills she and her Dad came up with this plan that she should get good enough to bike down to McDonald's (Donald Ducks is what she has always called McD's) Well the other weekend 2/9, they decided that the time had come. We had such a fun day. First we went to try and fly the kite that the girls gave Gregg for Valentine's day at a neighborhood park. But the wind didn't cooperate. But we had a fun time trying. Then on to McDonald's and home all the while MK peddled along. The whole time in my head I kept hearing the music from the Wizard of Oz when the mean neighbor lady peddles her bicycle around and tries to take the dog, I don't know why.

Here is where the kite spent the majority of the day
Didn't matter that the kite didn't fly to these two

Southeastern Wildlife Expo
Last weekend started out as a weekend with nothing planned but it turned out to be full of fun. Gregg took Friday off and we ended up coordinating with the Weinheimers to meet at Marion Square for some SEWE events. It was a lot of fun. All the kids loved seeing all the different animals and we all took home plenty of SEWE swag - stickers, posters, keychains etc.

Doll Days
I really love the level of imaginary play that happens at my house. On a daily basis there are any number of events going on from ballet to karate to 2's or 5's classes with choir and chapel and it is all pretend. But it is all organzied. There are definitely rules and schedules and only the puppet master knows what each room of our house is designated for, for example whether the living room is the 3's classroom or ballet etc. It is often hard to keep track and sometimes the imaginary friends or dolls have to face the consequences of making a mistake. On this particular day Anne tried to reorganize the "class" which was frowned upon by the puppet master but soon enough the PM had everyone where they were "suppose" to be.

Anne's 1st Haircut
Well the shaggy hair in the eyes was really bothering me so I made an appointment for Anne's first haircut. She doesn't have a
lot of hair but she doesn't like to keep a bow in her hair and without it her hair is in her eyes. We have been talking it up , in part because MK was excited to get her haircut as well. After Anne got dressed this morning she said "I ready, let's go." Good thing the appointment was first thing. So it was off to Miss Sue. Big sister went first and as life goes at our house, if Big Sis does it "Annie-Boo too".
Anne did a great job and sat up in the big chair without a single fuss.

The whole time she had her eye on the prize, a lollipop. But it was well deserved and I was glad to have the shag gone so I didn't mind the stickiness too much.

Looks like now both my girls are big fans of Miss Sue!

"Can I get my haircut again tomorrow?"

Family Day at Meggett
The Bairs invited us all out for a day in the country which was awesome. What a beautiful place to be! I wish that I had brought
my camera along for the marsh walk, but my hands were full of little hands attached to little feet in pink kitty rain (or mud) boots. Both girls enjoyed the change of scenery. And I was impressed at how well they just walked and walked. Of course the 4 wheeled vehicles were very popular, Thanks Bairs!

January Charles Towne Landing
Since January is the tourist in your own town time. We took advantage of a pleasant Charleston day and met the Weinheimers (-Lane) at CTL. It was a great day! MK and Bess always have a blast together, Austin was a big help with the 2 little ones who were good sports
so we got to enjoy visiting with Julie and Charles. We had a great picnic, a nice walk and tram ride and got to see a few animals too.

Special Christmas Treat

One of many special things about this Christmas was that Robin brought the kids here from California for Christmas. Mary Kathryn
and Ruth are a little less than a year apart in age and they really enjoyed playing together this Christmas even though
they don't get the opportunity to spend much time together the rest of the year.
Christmas 2007

Another wonderful healthy year for our family was indeed the best Christmas present. Watching our 2 amazing daughters
learn and grow has been truly amazing and more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined. Both girls are filled with so much love. Love for each other, for us, for God, for others. Wow it is truly awesome. We had a wonderful family filled Christmas and were truly blessed to be surround by so many people we love.
